Ardentec Partners with Delta Energy on Small Hydropower to Diversify Green Power Strategy
Ardentec, a leading semiconductor testing company, has announced an 8-year partnership with Delta Energy, a subsidiary of Delta Group specializing in renewable energy sales. This collaboration focuses on small hydropower green electricity transactions, and it is expected to generate up to 8 million kWh of green electricity. This initiative not only ensures stable power supply and flexible risk management for Ardentec in green energy management but also demonstrates both parties' support for emerging clean energy technologies.
Ardentec's renewable energy procurement initially focused on solar photovoltaics, and has gradually completed the installation of solar power generation equipment for self-use. In recent years, Ardentec has continued to expand renewable energy strategy. In 2024, the use of renewable energy and green electricity certificates accounted for 10.4% of total electricity consumption. To increase the penetration rate of renewable energy and achieve the RE100 goal, Ardentec has reached a cooperation agreement with Delta Energy. Delta Energy will supply small hydropower, aiming to enhance the overall power supply stability by leveraging the unique generation characteristics of different renewable energies. This ensures the use of clean energy even during periods when solar power supply is insufficient.
The small hydropower that Ardentec and Delta Energy are collaborating on comes from Shishui Creek in Taichung City, a tributary of the middle reaches of the Dajia River. According to the public information from the Water Resources Agency of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, run-of-river small hydropower utilizes the natural flow of rivers for power generation. The creek water is reused multiple times, making small hydropower the most environmentally friendly and sustainable renewable energy with minimal environmental impact among all green energy sources. In 2025, Ardentec released the "Biodiversity and No Deforestation Declaration," consciously choosing low-impact renewable energy to support the company in achieving multiple sustainability indicators. This aligns with the global trend of low-carbon energy development, ensuring the rational recycling of green resources and demonstrating the company's commitment to sustainable operations and environmental protection, contributing to global carbon reduction and energy transition efforts.
In response to the global trend of achieving net-zero carbon emissions, Ardentec led Taiwan's semiconductor testing industry by joining the global renewable energy initiative (100% Renewable Energy, RE100) in 2023. Ardentec committed to using 100% renewable energy at all global locations by 2050, demonstrating determination to implement climate action. In 2024, Ardenetc further signed the SBTi commitment, fully aligning with international initiative goals and fulfilling corporate social responsibility.
Ardentec's Chief Sustainability Officer, C.C. Rou , stated: "Ardentec values sustainable business practices. Not only actively adopt low-carbon, environmentally friendly green energy and continuously diversify renewable energy structure to enhance green operational resilience and improve corporate competitiveness, but also hope to drive the industry value chain and promote the entire sector towards green, low-carbon development." |
